Not Your Typical Jerry Springer Story

In the early 1970s, Jerry Springer—yes, that Jerry Springer—was a City Council member in Cincinnati, my hometown. Back then, he was caught in a scandal for paying a prostitute, and to make matters worse, it was rumored that the check he used bounced.

Springer owned up to what happened and resigned from office. But what came next is the part people don’t always talk about: just one year later, he ran for City Council again—and won.

That story is legend in Cincinnati, and I remember bringing it up to my mom once. She shrugged and said, “Everybody makes mistakes.” In our house, that wasn’t an excuse—it was a reminder that mistakes aren’t the end. They’re part of the story.

I wasn’t surprised by her response. I was raised to believe that falling down isn’t failure—giving up on yourself is.

What This Has to Do with Coaching

I bring this up not to glamorize scandal, but to highlight something we all need to hear sometimes: Even when we mess up, fall short, or feel lost, we are allowed to come back. We’re allowed to believe in ourselves again—even if others don’t.

That’s what I help people do as a coach.

Because believing in yourself doesn’t always come naturally—especially when you’ve been through hard things. You may have voices (external or internal) telling you you’re not ready, not enough, or too much. But none of that has to be true.

When we work together, my job is to help you:

  • Reconnect with your strengths

  • Rewrite the story you’ve been telling yourself

  • Start taking aligned action toward the life you actually want

Your Comeback Starts Here

You don’t need to be perfect to move forward. You just need to be willing to show up.

If you’re ready to believe in yourself—even just a little—let’s talk. I offer a free consultation so you can see what it feels like to have someone fully in your corner.
